The organizing committee of the Society of Lovers of Belarusian History named after Vaclav Lastovsky, as part of its activities to popularize Belarusian history, has published the second issue of the Records. This issue is entirely dedicated to the Belarusian Smolensk Region.

Belarusian Smolensk Region

Independent Belarus, as is known, occupies just over half of the Belarusian ethnic lands. Unfortunately, having found themselves in another country, Belarusians have forgotten their true history, forgotten who their ancestors were, and the ethnic Belarusian culture has been actively destroyed. For us, Belarusians of an independent state, it is very important to restore the historical memory of our brothers who, by the will of fate, have become part of another state. The first step towards bringing back from oblivion the great historical, cultural, ethnic, and social layer of Belarusian border territories was this book.

We hope that the actions of the organizing committee of the TABG named after Vaclav Lastovsky will continue, and similar books will appear about the Belarusian Bryansk region, Pskov region, Chernihiv region, Bialystok region, Dvina region, and Vilnius region.
